Bamboo Rods

As most of my readers know I'm a bamboo rod nut. It started many years ago, far, far away in a distant galaxy known for fine fly fly fishing on spring creeks. When I beamed to Longmont the bamboo rod fetish followed and the rest, as they say, is probably fantasy.

Still, I do love fishing with bamboo. The picture here is of my hand on one of my cane rods with a friendly Greenback Cutthroat trout. Notice the Royal Wulff in its mouth? Notice the smile on my face?

Joe Arguello Bamboo Rods

During 2006, I worked with Joe Arguello to help him reestablish his rod building business. It sort of worked, but this is a tough life for a man. He's tried it before, and decided to get a real job, build a few rods and go fishing. After a summer of trying to live on building rods that's where he is once again.
