I learned to
fly fish by doing it. I read books, talked with friends and spent lots of time on the water fishing; eventually
I fooled trout on streams.
That was over 25 years ago. During this span of time I've been a mess,
fishing and tying untold hours. That's how it
is when you love something.
I have another, more important love, and that is for people. Seeing people
thrive in life delights my being.
The combination
of loving and understanding fly fishing blends nicely with teaching people
to fly fish and seeing them thrive.
I hope you will
bring a family member or friend and join me for a
Fly Fishing School
in 2007. You'll learn to fly fish, have a great time on
the water and build skills that will build memories that will put
perspective on life and thriving in it. |

One-Day
Schools: General Information
One-Day Solution Fly Fishing Schools
are designed to teach beginner to intermediate anglers specific fly fishing skills.
The skills taught and learned will
serve everyone well as they pursue trout in streams with flies.
Schools will be fun and informal; there will
be no silly questions.
Each school will be designed to fulfill your
requirements. You will learn plenty during our time on the water and I
promise the skills will help you enjoy future time you spend on the water.
Tuition is $200.00 per person for a full day;
minimum is two people; maximum is four people per day.
Tuition includes use of gear (waders, boots, rod, reel, line), flies
and basic accessories.
Flies and accessories will also be available
for purchase.

Reading The Water
Who: Anyone who would like to learn how to find
feeding fish.
What: I will teach you where fish hold, where they
feed, how to approach
their spots and how to make good casts that will work.
Where: On a local trout stream. We'll usually do this
session on the Big Thompson, but I'm willing to teach the class in the spot
that makes sense to you.

Nymphs, Streamers & Wet
Flies School
Who: Anyone who would like to learn how to fish with
nymphs, streamers and wet flies. We'll teach you all the ins and outs of
casting,
mending, reading the water and much more!
What: Fly fishing instruction that will include
rigging, casting, reading the water and fishing with nymphs, streamers and
wet flies. You'll also learn how to hook, play, land and safely release
trout! All gear is available to use and/or purchase.
Where:

fishing in summer.
What: Fly fishing instruction that will include
rigging, casting, reading the water and fishing with flies that match the
conditions at hand. You'll also
learn how to hook, play, land and safely release wild trout!
Where:
On a local trout stream. We'll usually do this session on the Big Thompson,
but I'm willing to teach the class in the spot that makes sense to you.

It's a repeat of Summer Fly Fishing School I!!

techniques. The bugs are smaller and the fish more picky because water is
low and clear. Great dry fly fishing!

conditions at hand. You'll also
learn how to hook, play, land and safely release big trout! All gear is
available to use and/or purchase.
