September: The
Big T has been great this year. There's been lots of pressure, especially on the
upper few miles of the river, but it seems to be
holding
up well. Into Fall the water has dropped a bit so fish are more concentrated in
deeper pools and nearby riffles and runs. Watch for small mayfly and a few midge
hatches over the next month or so, which will be followed by more midge
activity. At this time, beetles and ants will still work well, as will small
attractor patterns. If you must, fish with a few nymphs. I think the fish are
looking up, and that they will eat dry flies if you'll cast the.
