Fish of dreams?
Dream of fish?
Fishing involves dreaming, preparing, remembering and recalling what we’ve done, with hope thrown in for good measure. Is anyone - other than Max, the chowderhead Golden Retriever - more hopeful than the angler? (Max always thinks the world revolves around him, and that the next thing that happens will be for his benefit:: this means eating or playing.)
When I started to tie flies I met two fellows who became good friends. The three of us - in one combination or another, including all three - often met to tie flies or to go fishing. While driving to or from the fishing or during our tying sessions we shared fly fishing dreams with one another. For some reason two fish came to the forefront in our discussions: Atlantic Salmon and Permit. More..
