This is presently in the works! For me, this means there’s an idea hovering out there and I want to do it because I think it is a good idea, and that it will be useful to my fly tying friends.
Any thoughts?
..to offer live feeds of fly tying lessons. Here’s what I’m thinking.
On a certain night of the week - say Monday one week Tuesday the next and so on - I will plan, host and air a specific fly tying class over the web. (Technically, I’m not sure how to do this, but then technically I was not sure how to build a web site, shoot and edit video and so on until recently. I’ll figure it out. Anyone have ideas about this?)
Each class will cover a specific fly type, technique, tool, material, pattern and so on. Class will begin with a short introduction describing what we’ll do, follow with about 45 minutes of instruction - I hope you’ll be tying along during this time, because I’ll go at a pace designed for you to tie with me - and then a question and answer session that will last for about 10 minutes. This will be done via emails, I think, so I can look at the various questions that come in and find out what they key questions are. The next twenty minutes will be used to answer the questions with specific tying demonstrations, and then we’ll tie the fly - or practice the technique - again for another twenty minutes or so.
I think the sessions will last for two hours. There will be a small fee - maybe $2.00 - to enroll in the live tying classes.
Thoughts? Please fill out the form at right and let me know.
Thanks!
The idea is..
