Introduction to Fly Casting Classes

Either Dale and/or another experience fly casting instructor will teach the class. Expect the best.

Introduction to Fly Casting Classes are designed for anyone from the person who has never picked up a fly rod to the angler who wants to brush up on the basics. The class begins at the beginning - which, according to the Do Re Mi song in the Sound Of Music is a very good place to start - with assembling rod and reel, stringing up the rod, leader construction, feeding line through the guides, the Roll Cast, the Pickup-Lay down cast, False Casting and more. We discuss line control, fly presentation, how to cast in the wind and much more.

Intro to Fly Casting Classes are 3-1/2 hours long. They're held on the water. Our instructors care about teaching fly casting. We'll supply all the gear, or you can use your own. This is a great time to try out new rods so you can feel the difference between fly rod actions.

Classes are held on Saturday from 9am until Noon on a local pond. (If needed, we'll also add an afternoon session that will be held from 1pm until 4.) Class size is limited, so sign up soon! Tuition is $50.00 per person.
