There are several popular areas of this river, including the
areas above and below Saratoga, the Miracle Mile and Grey's Reef. All can be
fished
all 'year round, but some of the best times are during Spring and Fall.
The Miracle Mile stretch of the North Platte is famous for
several things, including wind, big trout and stark beauty. While the best time
to go is as soon as you can, late fall, winter and early spring often bring the
best results. Give us a call for updates: we see lots of folks fishing here and
have a
good feel for what is happening!
Gray's Reef has become more popular in the past year or so. The
reason? A beautiful spot with large numbers of large trout. You can float the
river or wade in public access areas. When floating, beware of private property
and keep out!
We have specialty maps in the shop that
show where to go and access points. Use them in good health!
