Rocky Mountain National Park: Current Fishing Conditions Report

September: The fishing this summer in the Park has been fabulous. Lots of folks have caught their first, second and third wild trout on flies. Other folks have hooked and landed a few more, adding to their memory banks the picture of lovely places and beautiful trout.

The fishing is still very good. We've had some snow, but it has not caused the fish any problems. Bugs are still emerging and fish are eating them, trying to put on weight to survive another winter in the harsh environs in which they live.

Trout are eating dry flies or nymphs, and I'll bet someone will hook a very large brown in one of the lakes or streams while fishing a streamer patternin the near future. Will it be you? If so, please share the picture.

Send us your feedback from your fishing experience: angler@peakpeak.com We'll add your info to the fishing reports to help your fellow anglers know what to expect! Thanks!
