There is
tremendous variety in fly tying materials. After the hook, which is first in
the vise, thread is important.
In our opinion,
developed from teaching and tying flies for many years, a strong, flat
thread is best. That's why we carry Danville 6/0 and Ultra 70 and 140 Denier
threads.

The standard fly tying thread for years, and the one we've used most is
Danville 6/0. The thread has 11 strands, lies flat when tying and is strong.
We use it for standard dries and nymphs, as well as midge patterns.
