Local Warm
Water
The warm
water fishing in and around Longmont has slowed
significantly
the last month or so. Usually this is a great time of year but everyone
we’ve talked to says the same thing, the bite is fair at best. Rather odd,
considering that September is usually great for Bass and other warm water
species.
Hopefully
as the water cools a bit, and the days grow shorter, the Bass will gear up
and start trying to put on some extra weight for the lean winter months.
Best to
fish with crawdad patterns, buggers, and divers during the morning and
through the day. Concentrate on poppers and other top water patterns in the
evening especially at dusk.
Fish the
edges of ponds from about 20 feet offshore in, or vice versa if floating in
a tube.
